Warranty Policy

Effective Date: 2025-06-11

Tennessee Box Beams (TNBB) provides a warranty for every handmade mantel built and shipped from our Tennessee warehouse. Due to real wood being an imperfect organic material, occasional defects may present after quality checks and upon delivery.

Coverage Period:

  • Mantels are covered for up to 90 days from the delivery date for specific issues.

Covered Defects (for mantels):

  • Seam opening longer than 1 inch on an end edge (where the end cap meets the mantel body).
  • Seam opening longer than 2 inches on the top or bottom long edge (not the end cap).
  • Crack longer than 12 inches on the face grain (main mantel body).
  • Crack wider than 5/16 inch at the widest point on the end cap (end grain).
  • Standoff from the wall greater than ⅛ inch as a result of mantel twist. This gap is measured by fixing one end of the mantel flush to the wall on the installation cleat and then applying horizontal pressure by hand to the other end. After pressure, the remaining gap should not exceed 3/16 inch.
  • Standoff from the wall greater than ¼ inch as a result of a mantel bow. A bow is when the back-middle portion of the mantel does not sit flush against a level wall, and the gap is measured after installing both ends of the mantel flush to the wall.

Variability and Imperfections Not Covered by Warranty (acknowledged by customer in purchase agreement):

  • Products are made from real wood (Western Red Cedar by default).
  • Natural/native color hue of Western Red Cedar ranges from Dark Brown to Pink, which may affect the product’s final color depending on the stain and wood hue. The final shade of color may vary from product-to-product. Customers acknowledge this natural variability and accept the risk of color variability in the final product.
  • Products may have knots, minor cracks, and imperfections innate to Western Red Cedar, which are accepted within the boundaries of the TNBB product warranty.
  • Beams may have a slight twist or bow due to natural wood movement. Using the recommended TNBB installation process (which involves a cleat system under the beam/mantel), minor twists and bows will be eliminated.
  • When two beams are joined together to create a longer run, color and grain patterns may not perfectly match, and there will be a seam, whether a lap joint or a butt joint. Customers acknowledge and understand that there may be different colors and grain patterns coming together, creating the look of two separate beams, and there will be a seam.

Process for Warranty Replacement:

1. Check the date your mantel was received. It must be within 90 days of the date of your claim.

2. Contact your TN Box Beams sales representative if you have one; otherwise, email returns@tnboxbeams.com.

3. Provide pictures of the product defect, your order number, and the date.

4. TN Box Beams will process a replacement and provide further instructions. In most cases, they will request that the original mantel be returned in the packaging provided with your replacement mantel.

Issues outside the specified parameters do not fall under the 90-day warranty and are not guaranteed for replacement under this policy.

Return Policy

Effective Date: 2025-06-11

Tennessee Box Beams (TNBB) products are custom built.

  • All sales are final and products are non-refundable or returnable.
  • However, if a customer is not satisfied with their product, TNBB will make every effort possible to remedy the issue and address any customer dissatisfaction.
  • Issues not covered by the 90-day mantel warranty may still be eligible for return or replacement under their standard satisfaction and return policy.
